Join us on Friday, January 27 from 12PM-1PM for our monthly Let's Do Lunch: NYSRA Member Roundtable Discussion.

TOPIC: Disability Labels: Do They Define the Person?

PRESENTER: Fran Wishnick, Author of Craig Climbed a Tree: His Lifelong Struggle

It's a cliche to say that we can never truly understand another person, even ourselves! Yet, all too often, a person with a mental health diagnosis is described by their label - bipolar, schizophrenic, autistic, etc.

How do labels affect a person's identity formation and avoidance of stigma? Person-centered support and care?

Fran Wishnick, advocate and author of Craig Climbed a Tree, a book about her son and his complexities and what happened in our systems of care, leads our lunchtime discussion.

Let's Do Lunch on Friday, January 27 during our monthly NYSRA Member Roundtable Discussion to discuss this interesting topic!
