NYSRA has three internal Divisions that drive development of our public policy agenda on an annual basis. The Divisions actively review programmatic, regulatory and budgetary issues; collectively guide substantive development of Rehabilitation Research and Training Institute initiatives; act as a resource to the Legislature; State Agencies & Executive; and provide leadership around major issues that are regularly communicated back to the membership. The Divisions offer members a voice and an opportunity to actively participate in shaping the structure and policy that defines the operations, quality and financing of service delivery for people with disabilities.
(Agency members are encouraged to have staff participate in any of the three)
Appointed by the Chair of the NYSRA Board; Develop and implement annual program and legislative priorities; Recommends annual legislative, budgetary and programmatic priorities for Board review; Serves as an Executive policy team member, meeting as necessary; and serves on the NYSRA Legislative Committee.
Division Chairs facilitate policy and program interests of the NYSRA membership. Priority issues are developed and reviewed at Division meetings and on an interim basis throughout the year and reported to the NYSRA Board. NYSRA staff help develop and implement all of the Division's annual priorities in close consultation with Co-Chairs.
